Previously, he served as Senior Associate at Stripes Group where he sourced and executed investments across a variety sectors including software, technology and consumer products. He was responsible for executing investments in Seamless.com, Turtle Beach and Sandata Technologies.

Prior to joining Stripes Group, Akshay worked as an Associate at Battery Ventures where he focused on sourcing private equity investments, including growth equity, buyouts, rollups, PIPES and take-privates. Prior to Battery, he was a Senior Analyst in the Global Technology Group at Citigroup Global Markets, where he focused on M&A and equity and debt financings.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Rutgers University, where he also majored in Computer Science.

David Birnbaum is the Executive Vice President of the New York Business Unit at Sandata Technologies, LLC. Mr. Birnbaum is responsible for the company’s New York business activity and growth in the market. With over two decades of experience in the healthcare and financial services industries, he has achieved a successful track record of building home care software companies as well as hospital and senior living programs in New York.

Before joining Sandata, Mr. Birnbaum ran Business Development at HHA eXchange, a New York-based home healthcare software provider that experienced dramatic growth under his leadership. Prior to that role, he participated in the expansion of two senior living facilities and the development of a traumatic brain injury rehabilitation hospital.

Mr. Birnbaum holds a Bachelor of Arts from Temple University and a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University. David, his wife and their three children live in Riverdale, New York.

Bert E. Brodsky is the Executive Chairman and founder of Sandata Technologies, LLC. As a founder in 1978, Mr. Brodsky has been an integral part of the company’s growth and industry leadership for over four decades.

Mr. Brodsky was a pioneer in the healthcare field, specifically with Electronic Visit Verification™ for homecare workers. He founded Medical Arts Office Services, Inc. which provided the first computer-automated billing services and management for hospital-based physicians to submit claims electronically to third party carriers, Medicare and Medicaid. He also founded and served as Chairman of National Medical Health Card Systems (NMHC) pharmacy benefit management services.

Mr. Brodsky is the founding Chairman of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. He has served on the New York State Committee on Healthcare Facilities in the 21st Century (Berger Commission) and the New York State Task Force for Medicaid Reform.

Karen Erickson is responsible for overseeing all program management areas of the company, including our customer implementation teams, IT project management and other cross-functional operational support groups.

Previously, she served as Vice President, Technology for the Care Management sector of McKesson Corporation, where she was the leader for all software development, infrastructure and IT support functions. Ms. Erickson has held senior technology positions in a wide variety of industries, including healthcare, finance and manufacturing. She brings her extensive skills at organizational design and project execution to bear in her role at Sandata Technologies.

Ms. Erickson graduated from the University of South Florida with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Management Information Systems and Finance, and received her Masters in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.

Kenneth D. Faltischek serves as the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Sandata Technologies, LLC. Ken is responsible for leading efforts to execute the company’s strategic plan through the design, development, delivery and support of the company’s solutions used in the home health care market. Ken also works closely with the executive management team and board of directors to define the company’s overall strategic growth plan. He also manages and oversees the legal affairs of the company.

Prior to joining Sandata, Ken was COO and General Counsel to BEB Capital, where he provided strategic business and legal services for a family office primarily focused on managing and growing a portfolio of health care and real estate businesses. He began his career as a corporate associate at Katten Muchin Rosenman, a large multi-disciplinary law firm headquartered in Chicago.

Ken is also an active supporter of several community organizations. He is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Sunrise Association, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings world-wide, through the creation of Sunrise Day Camps, Year-Round Programs and In-Hospital Recreational Activities, all offered free of charge. Ken is also a member of the Long Island Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization, and a past Board Member of Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington, Temple Beth Israel and the Long Island Real Estate Group Next Gen Committee.

Ken earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona and Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School, magna cum laude.

Ken resides in Port Washington, NY with his wife and their two children.

Previously, he served as Vice President of Operations at Stratis Business System, where he managed the design, development, and delivery of their agency management solution. In addition, Justin founded Careified.com, a home health caregiver-centric application that allows agencies and caregivers to share, in real-time, scheduling, compliance and training information. His knowledge and proven capabilities in product design, development, and delivery in the homecare industry make him a great addition to the Sandata team.

Justin graduated from Florida State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems, and received his Master’s in Business Administration from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Vincent Luciani brings nearly 30 years of technology leadership and experience to Sandata. As Chief Information Officer, Vincent oversees Quality Assurance, Information Systems, Customer Care, Reporting and Analytics, Database Engineering and Tier 3 Production Support.

Prior to joining Sandata, Vincent served as Chief Information Officer for IAC, one of the internet’s top 10 largest companies. Vincent joined IAC in 2005 as Vice President of Information Technology and was promoted to Chief Information Officer in 2009. Mr. Luciani was responsible for IAC’s computing infrastructure and technology oversight. Before IAC, Vincent spent 5 years as Vice President of Technology for Koch Entertainment Distribution (now E-One Entertainment), the largest independent music and video distributor in North America. Before that, he served as Vice President of Technology for Lifetime Television, during which time Lifetime became the highest-rated cable television network. Vincent began his career at the investment banking firm of Smith Barney, where he held various positions in the technology division.

Vincent graduated from Iona College with a bachelor’s degree in Computer and Informational Science. He is a member of Hofstra University’s IT Executive Board of Visitors, a National Board Member and Secretary for the Association for Information Technology Professionals (AITP) and a Governing Body Member of the NY CIO Executive Summit. He resides in Nassau County with his wife and 2 children.

Steve has eighteen years of healthcare industry experience in various markets and client segments.

Steve started in the home healthcare industry in 2000 when he joined Maxim Healthcare Services, a large national provider of home health care, medical staffing, and wellness services. In his last role as National Director of Maxim Health Systems, Steve led sales, strategic partner relationships, and overall service delivery of a $40M+ business unit.

Steve is a graduate of Roanoke College where he earned a degree in Business Administration, with a dual concentration in Marketing and Healthcare Economics.

Prior to becoming CEO, he held roles as President of the Technology Solutions Division and Chief Information Officer. Tom arrived at Alere through its merger with Matria Healthcare where he was President and Chief Operating Officer.

Previously, Mr. Underwood was the CEO of Alere Health, a national technology and healthcare services company providing Care Management solutions to large employers and health plans. Prior to becoming CEO, he held roles as President of the Technology Solutions Division and Chief Information Officer. Tom arrived at Alere through its merger with Matria Healthcare where he was President and Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. Underwood is an Electrical Engineer, receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Tennessee and the Georgia Institute of Technology, respectively. Tom is married and has two daughters.

Michael Valentin serves as the Chief Technology Officer of Sandata Technologies, LLC. With over 30 years of technology leadership, Mr. Valentin oversees all aspects of Software Engineering responsible for the quality development, enhancement and maintenance of Sandata’s industry leading home healthcare management solutions.

Prior to joining Sandata, Mr. Valentin held positions as Senior Vice President Global Head of Engineering and Client Delivery, Integration and Support at Zodiac Interactive where he was responsible for development and delivery of interactive video software solutions to Operators, OEMs, and third-party companies collectively serving over 45 million viewers in the United States, Canada and Northern Europe. Previous to Zodiac, Mr. Valentin served as Vice President, Product Integration and Management at Cablevision where he was responsible for technology integration and software development management of video, online and mobile app solutions for one of the region’s largest Cable Television providers.

Mr. Valentin earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Baruch College and his Master of Science Information Systems degree from Pace University. Additionally, as a Certified Scrum Professional, Mr. Valentin is an avid agile and devops practitioner, coach and trainer.
