Port Washington, NY - September 29, 2011: Sandata Technologies, LLC, a leading national provider of information technology solutions to the home care industry announces that our Santrax® Fixed Visit Verification is now live in 3 of our state programs as well as select Home Care providers and is helping our customers increase the level of automation of time and attendance through Electronic Visit Verification. Statistics have shown that time and attendance cannot be electronically tracked at the point of care in between 10% to 40% of the home care patient population for reasons such as no available land line phones, cell service or simply the patient’s refusal to let the home health worker use their phone. Santrax® Fixed Visit Verification (FVV) is helping to close this gap in electronic visit verification by providing a simple cost effective technology that allows for the electronic validation of home care visits.
Sandata’s patented FVV utilizes a unique token that is fixed within the patient’s home. This token generates a pre-programmed, multi-digit, unique number that corresponds to a specific date and time. When the caregiver arrives and just prior to their departure from the patient’s home, the caregiver presses the button on the FVV token and a multi-digit code displays. The caregiver writes the codes down and then makes a phone call into the Santrax® system to enter the data. The FVV system gives the caregiver the flexibility to enter the data in real time, or at a later time, into a cell phone or land line. This flexibility makes the device perfect for remote locations where no land line or cell service exists. The result is a specific date, time and location associated with a caregiver visit being entered into the Santrax® system – representing another layer to Sandata’s suite of solutions that help ensure patients receive the right care, at the right time and in the right location.
Santrax® FVV is a component of Sandata’s proprietary “Assured Coverage” program which combines multiple technologies to ensure maximum automation of the visit verification process. The Assured Coverage program also includes Santrax® Telephony which utilizes telephonic visit verification via a land line, Santrax® Mobile Visit Verification which verifies visits using GPS technology, and Santrax® Speaker Verification which uses biometric voice recognition technology to ensure caregiver compliance. These technologies allow home care administrators to feel confident that visit verification is occurring at the point-of-care, helping to guard against allegations of fraud and abuse, while improving care plan compliance.
