Chief Executive Officer

Tom Underwood

Tom Underwood is the Chief Executive Officer at Sandata Technologies, the leading nationwide provider of information technology solutions for the home healthcare industry. Mr. Underwood brings to Sandata over 22 years of healthcare software experience, and a successful track record of building growth-oriented, client-focused technology businesses for the healthcare industry. Over his career, he has led growth strategies for organizations ranging in size from early stage start-ups to large publicly traded companies.

Previously, Mr. Underwood was the CEO of Alere Health, a national technology and healthcare services company that provides Care Management solutions to large employers and health plans. Prior to becoming CEO, he held the roles of President of the Technology Solutions Division and Chief Information Officer. Tom arrived at Alere through its merger with Matria Healthcare where he was President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Matria Healthcare Mr. Underwood held various leadership roles with FCG, a national healthcare consulting firm, including President Global Shared Services. He entered FCG through the acquisition of Paragon Solutions, where he was the Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Underwood brings to Sandata the experience and expertise to lead our growth in the homecare industry by overseeing the introduction of technically advanced solutions that bring measurable value to our clients, while building deep relationships with the people we serve, and ensuring we deliver the Right Care at the Right Time for individuals in need.

Mr. Underwood is an Electrical Engineer, receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Tennessee and the Georgia Institute of Technology, respectively. Tom is married and has two daughters.

David Birnbaum

Executive Vice President, New York Business Unit

David Birnbaum

David Birnbaum is the Executive Vice President, New York Business Unit at Sandata Technologies, LLC, the leading nationwide provider of information technology solutions for the home healthcare industry. Mr. Birnbaum is responsible for the company’s New York business activity and market growth. He brings two decades of experience in the healthcare and financial services industries, and has achieved a successful track record of building home care software companies as well as hospital and senior living programs in New York.

Before joining Sandata, Mr. Birnbaum ran business development at HHA eXchange, a New York based software concern that experienced dramatic growth under his leadership. Prior to that role, he grew two senior living facilities and contributed to the development of a TBI rehabilitation hospital. Other experience includes serving as VP at BNY Mellon’s Office of Innovation, VP Operations at venture capital fund Softbank Emerging Markets, and Senior Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Mr. Birnbaum holds a Bachelor of Arts from Temple University in Philadelphia and a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University in New York. David, his wife and their three children live in Riverdale, New York.

Kenneth D. Faltischek

Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel

Kenneth D. Faltischek

Kenneth D. Faltischek serves as Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel to Sandata Technologies, LLC, the leading nationwide provider of information technology solutions to the home healthcare industry. Mr. Faltischek is responsible for managing the legal department and overseeing the legal affairs of the company, which includes mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, intellectual property protection, licensing and enforcement, regulatory compliance, employment, commercial litigation and other general transactional matters.

Prior to joining Sandata, Mr. Faltischek was a Corporate Associate at what is now Katten Muchin Rosenman in New York. In this position he focused on hedge-fund formations, private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property transactions and securities law matters.

Mr. Faltischek earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona and Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School.

David Gershen

Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

David Gershen

David Gershen is Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for Sandata Technologies, LLC, the leading nationwide provider of information technology solutions to the home healthcare industry. Mr. Gershen has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare field and utilizes his expertise in finance to assist with the management and growth of the company.

Mr. Gershen’s financial background is extensive and diverse. He coordinated the accounting for 15 operating companies and 40 real estate entities. His oversight responsibilities included tax preparation and financial reporting and budgeting for all these entities, many of which are in the healthcare field.

Prior to joining NMHCRX, David spent 15 years as the senior finance person for a health care consulting and technology firm. He joined APM, Inc., as their Comptroller in 1985. He held a series of positions in the company with increasing responsibilities. He was promoted to Chief Financial Officer, and in 1995 he was elected a partner in the firm and became the Chief Administrative Officer. In 1996 when the company was acquired by Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), Mr. Gershen was named Vice President of Finance and Administration for CSC Healthcare Inc., a $350 million subsidiary. During his time at APM/CSC he accomplished a variety of major tasks such as managing the automation of the accounting and billing systems, developing a budget and financial planning model, refining the internal financial reporting system, and establishing policies and procedures. Mr. Gershen managed all the due diligence for CSC’s acquisition of APM and played an integral role in negotiating the agreement. Before joining APM, he worked in financial roles for RCA and Honeywell.

Mr. Gershen earned his B.S. in Business Administration and an M.B.A. in Finance from Boston University. He resides in Plainview, New York with his wife and two daughters.

Edward J. Zecchini

Edward J. Zecchini

Edward J. Zecchini, is the Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Sandata Technologies, LLC, the leading nationwide provider of information technology solutions to the home healthcare industry. He is an established technology sector leader and executive with expertise in strategic, financial, operational and administrative disciplines. Mr. Zecchini has created software products and solutions for over twenty years and has successfully translated business problems into profitable applications. As a leader in the technology field, he has been involved in all stages of business growth including working with start-ups, turnarounds and established entities.

Mr. Zecchini was the chief architect for all technology applications at HealthMarket, Inc., a healthcare insurance company, which in four years was so successful that it was sold to a publicly held company. He went on to serve as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of the parent company.

His career started at SportsTicker, Inc., where he introduced innovative computer technology and built the first sports-score ticker crawl for television and the first mobile computer to gather and transmit game data at Major League Baseball press boxes. Products such as SportsTicker PC Plus and Broadcast SportsWire were introduced during his tenure.

Over the years, Mr. Zecchini introduced technologies that transformed Thomson Healthcare, a publishing company, into a major information provider. He was also President of IT Analytics LLC, a consulting company.

Mr. Zecchini holds a B.A. in Computer Science from the State University of New York.
